Fit 4 Piano is intended as a resource for teachers and students. While not a method, it contains technical ideas and exercises that Dr. Rae de Lisle has found most useful over a lifetime of teaching. By establishing movements that are natural from the beginning of learning, progression though the grades is uncomplicated, rewarding, and pleasurable for both teacher and student.
Each exercise is described and shown on video, and explanations for teachers are included in interactive pop-ups. More than 80 HD video excerpts of demonstrations and musical examples show how they are relevant whether playing the easiest pieces or advanced repertoire. These exercises have been used with the piano students at the University of Auckland for a number of years and there has been a notable reduction in the number of injuries since their introduction. |
In July 2019, we launched the e-version of Fit 4 Piano. This handy all-in-one resource can be viewed on the iPad, iPhone, Macbook, and PC. It is designed to allow teachers and students to have ease-of-access to the resource while in the lesson and at home. It is recommended for those who feel comfortable navigating and browsing via electronic devices.

In 2020, we have launched a print version of Fit 4 Piano for those readers who prefer paper and a physical book. Designed for teachers and students seeking the simplicity and convenience of traditional books, our print version fits perfectly on any piano music stand.
Fit 4 Piano in Print also maintains its interactive features. The HD videos of the exercises and repertoire examples can be seen on smartphones or tablet computers, simply open the camera app on a mobile device and scan the QR codes next to each video. Access to Wifi or mobile data is needed to view the videos. |
